On the 1st of July 2019 a new member joined our project, Cátia Nunes Soares. Cátia is passionate about plant sciences at the service of food security.

Her main interest is to better understand plant adaptation to water stress and recovery processes. She believes in combining classical methodologies (like physiological and biochemical methods) with modern molecular biology techniques to gradually build the understanding of plant responses to stress. She has worked with both model plants and crops, including legumes. She will integrate our team of researchers bringing hands for the lab, head for ideas and heart to care for the project, the team and the institution.
